Advanced Materials Research Center, the center held a workshop on Wednesday morning, 6/11/2024, in the center’s hall entitled:
Basic principles for corrosion and method for measurement with interpretation of result
The workshop was presented by (Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Alaa Nasser) in the presence of the center’s staff and a number of interested people from the university’s departments. This workshop is of a scientific nature, the aim of which is to introduce university members to the most important laboratory tests and devices available at the center.
The workshop began by introducing the attendees to the phenomenon of corrosion and how it occurs in metallic materials and the reasons for its occurrence. A detailed explanation was also provided about the corrosion test and the operating principle of the device available at the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center and the results that can be obtained using this device, including: Open Circuit Potential Test (OCP), Tafel Plot and Corrosion Rate, Surface Resistance Test (EIS), and Pitting Potential Measurement. During the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion and to answer the participants’ questions. At the end of the workshop, the attendees thanked and expressed their gratitude to the lecturer for the valuable information they learned through this scientific workshop.
