The Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center held a scientific workshop on Wednesday 18/12/2024 in the center’s hall entitled Synthesis and application of nanomaterial by laser ablation method. (Assistant Professor Nour Malik) lectured in the presence of a number of the center’s staff.
This technique is one of the techniques used to manufacture nanostructures and is the most widely used recently compared to traditional physical methods such as chemical vapor deposition. The nanoparticles obtained by this technique are somewhat crystalline, and can be obtained in an easy way and in one step without any subsequent heat treatment due to the high efficiency of the scraped parts. The laser scraping process includes concentrating a high power of the laser beam on the surface of the target, causing the laser to interact with the target, causing it to evaporate in the form of a plasma cloud (Plasma Plume) containing atoms or ions with a high transfer of kinetic energy.
There are several factors that determine this technique, including: the material and the wavelength of the laser used. The workshop also included a detailed explanation of how to perform this technique using the special device. It also included scientific discussions related to the workshop topic, and questions and inquiries were raised and answered by the lecturer
